Ravenscroft Vineyard 2022 Nero d’Avola

We had to attend Aria’s Gym competition tonight (6 to 8) so no time to cook, we ordered a meat lovers pizza to collect on our way home.

The glass presentation is unbridled radiance with brightly reflective pink and red roses shimmering and sparkling a lively greeting.2022 nero d'Avola

This is a highly redolent wine featuring strong wafts of red cherries, wild raspberries, some darker plums, a little liquorice and something akin to caramelised prunes, there is also a little background funk that is difficult to describe but certainly enhances the experience.

The palatal journey is exciting and interesting, red and some darker cherries, a little raspberry tingle, lightly black peppered, the mouthfeel is luscious and full and then those caramelised prunes feature with a little liquorice. The acid drives this lighter bodied wine reasonably long with some raciness and the tannins are very fine almost on the verge of silky except they provide a little finishing punch. The overall balance is somewhat sublime as this wines contours and massages your taste buds with genuine talent.

A perfect wine for us to accompany our meat lovers pizza!
