Heritage Estate Wines 2021 Nero D’Avola

A lighter bodied style of Nero d’Avola at 12.1% alcohol well suited for consumption in summer with a slight chill.

Light red with pink hues in the glass signals a wine2021 nero d'avola weighted rather like a pinot or bistro style Sangiovese, the reflective radiance is captivating. The bouquet carries wafts of violets, tobacco, raspberries, a little blackberry, leather, spice, vanilla and earth.

White pepper adds a little spice to the palate which features liquorice, red cherries, red plums, some blackberry, maraschino cherries and earth. There is an enjoyable crunchy acidity invigorating the wine and the tannins are very fine and rather light for a Nero. Although the wine is light bodied the flavour profile holds many levels of interest and continues to offer more as the wine breathes. The mouthfeel is succulent and savoury. An interesting wine to enjoy in late spring/summer accompanied by platters of cheeses, charcuterie, chutneys, relishes and the like.
