Heritage Estate Wines 2021 Shiraz Cabernet

A blend of 66% Shiraz and 34% Cabernet. A very attractive wine in the glass, a bright purple and raspberry meniscus radiates a beautiful aliveness, even the deeper wells bounce exceptional colours rather like sheening red and black cherries.2021 shiraz cabernet

Red cherries and raspberries float a redolent drift braided with wet leather and something akin to subtle sour fruit rind.

The palate is delicate and has, almost on every taste, an initial presentation of sweet which can’t actually express as the wine immediately turns savoury and a little sour, the mouthfeel is like a veil of delicacy gently turning and decorously delivering the fruit flavours along your taste buds. Sour red cherries and succulent sour raspberries are interwoven with red liquorice, some aniseed begins to transform the taste parade toward a slightly salty earth sprinkled with a little pepper. The tannins are pencil fine furnishing an exquisite and intricate drying which elongates the wine considerably. The acid is young and refreshing and with great balance promising to drive energy in this wine for years to come.

Respect this wine and it will treat you, don’t open it after consuming anything that is a bigger style as this one is light bodied but replete with alluring flavours. The label says the wine can be cellared for 10 years or so and the overall balance suggests that is a distinct possibility.
