Jamworks began as a smallish roadside shop selling a creative and delicious range of Jams, Relishes, Pastes, Chutneys etc. I can remember often calling in to stock up on their Caramelised Capsicum & Onion as it had become a staple in our home especially added to winter meals or to cheese and crackers while sipping on a good red. A little over three years ago (in approx 2016) they constructed and moved into much larger premises next door and Anna’s Candles occupied the old shop.
Jamworks official name is Jamworks Gourment Foods Cafe & Larder and it has been immensely popular. It was customer demand that caused them to construct and move into new premises. Jamworks deserves their popularity as they serve innovative, creative and most appetising foods. Nor do they rest on their reputation, instead they continue to innovate.
The decor could perhaps be described as modern rustic but it’s the overall feel of the cafe that’s most important and here you are guaranteed to feel relaxed and at home. When you visit try to allocate some time as it’s genuinely difficult to leave, you just want to spend more time in the relaxed atmosphere and order one last coffee.
When myself and my family visit The Granite Belt we always stay in Ballandean and Jamworks has become our offical go to place for breakfast. Although it’s best described as a Cafe it really has filled a consumer gap between Cafe and Restaurant as you can enjoy restaurant quality lunches at Jamworks accompanied by a range of exquisite local wines – the hedonist and the epicurean would not be complaining here.
