Summit Estate 2019 Albariño

Made from vines planted in 2016 and a lot more has just gone in the ground indicating how happy the people at Summit Estate are with this variety.

Light straw in the glass with slight greenish hues2019 albariño. A very inviting bouquet replete with citrus and tropicals and the overall presentation is frisky and zesty and almost sherbety. All of this flows from the glass bowl to delight your senses with an indomitable surge that will repeatedly return you to the aromatic experience. Rather unlike a political promise the palatal action is true to the statement of the bouquet. Here you encounter a very clean line of quite refreshing acid bearing citrus rinds which are strongly tempered by zest, there is some pineapple and kiwifruit, green apple and honeydew melon. Mineral characters, rather than fine grained are more akin to slabs of rock and almost slate like but there is texture as well.

So, all in all, a quite different wine to the View Wine rendition. I suspect some will love one over the other as there is enough differentiation to please multiple divergent palates. Albariño – Alvarinho whichever way prefer your juice this is another great development in wine on The Granite Belt.
